Maple Vanilla Strawberry Syrup

This simple homemade strawberry syrup is so great to have on hand to put in mixed drinks (strawberry margaritas anyone?), drizzle over pancakes or waffles, or use in my homemade coconut milk strawberry ice cream (or put ON plain vanilla ice cream!). It is so easy to make and really varies things up a bit.

This recipe is paleo, gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar-free, and could be low FODMAP friendly if you swap the strawberries with blueberries. Really, you could replace any berries in this recipe. You could always swap the maple syrup with honey. A blueberry, honey & lemon flavor sounds amazing!

Maple Vanilla Strawberry Syrup


  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan.

  2. Simmer the mixture for 30 minutes or until reduced, stirring occasionally. 

  3. Turn off the heat and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.

  4. Pour all the contents into the blender and blend for 30 seconds or until to your desired consistency.
